Alexangela ‘Gila’ Salvador made a ‘leaf
of faith’ at seventeen deferring her Business Management studies at the Ateneo
de Manila University to start her own business. At age 18, the Nueva Ecijan
lass earned her first 7-digit income.
Now 25, Gila is one of the 40 vying for
one of the titles in Bb. PIlipinas 2020. “Being immersed in the world of
business taught me so many things that have helped me grow into the woman I am
today,” quipped Gila. “I want to be an inspiration to everyone, to let them
know that everything they crave for, hope and pray for is at the very tip of
their fingertips,” added the CEO and president of three corporations.
An advocate for independence and
self-reliance, Gila, who is training under the Kagandahang Flores camp, became
the owner of a construction and interior design company at age 19, a chain of
restaurants at 24 and only last year, a realty development company with a
hostel in Siargao Island for its first project.
Having all these, Gila has decided to
share her life’s successes through her YouTube Channel – Making it happen, to
empower women and the youth to expand their boundaries, cross their limits and
push their passions. “It does not matter if you’re a CEO or an employee, you
all have the skills that you can use not only to reach, but to build your own
dreams as well,” said surfing and diving enthusiast.
But the big question is “will Gila’s
extraordinary success story run all the way to the finals of Bb. Pilipinas
2020. As Gila always says, “make it happen, nothing is impossible.” (Report and Photos by Eton Concepcion)
