Philippines wins Mrs. Asia-Pacific Tourism 2018 in Malaysia

At the NAIA Terminal 2 with Ms. Annie Refrea, National Director with her lovely daughter Roanne upon the homecoming of Philippines' Mitzi Go Gil, winner of Mrs. Asia Pacific Tourism 2018 held in Malaysia.


Mitzie Go Gil, a 40-year-old, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao native and mother of three, was named Mrs. Asia Pacific Tourism 2018 after besting 22 married women from Asia and Pacific countries at the finals held recently at the Phoenix Forest City Garden Hotel in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Gil, a travel entrepreneur and philanthropist, also took home the Mrs. Glamour, Best in Smile, People’s Choice and Special Queen Ambassador special awards in the pageant where compatriot Eurresse Czeurisse Misola, a 24-year-old, Cebuana, won as Mrs. Asia Pacific All Nation 2018, and bagging the Best in National Costume and Mrs. Encouraging Woman special awards.

Gil and Misola joined other winners Mrs. Russia Ulyana Kofanova, Mrs. Asia Pacific Global 2018; Mrs. India Urooj Ashaish Khan, Mrs. Asia Pacific Intercontinental 2018; and Mrs. Malaysia Elisse Lim, Mrs. Asia Pacific Cosmopolitan 2018.

The five-day pageant was a presentation by Lumiere International based in Singapore exclusively for married women advocating women empowerment, among others.

Go, the wife of retired PNP Gen. Virtus V. Gil, and currently acts as vice president of V.V.G. Realty and manager of the Eagles Fly Travel & Tours they put up brought about by her passion in traveling.  Go, grew up close to her grandmother, draws inspiration from her supportive husband.

Ms. Annie Refrea, National Director believes that Gil’s sincerity and being authentic helped her a lot to win this international competition and she was so happy seeing Gil bringing the crown and trophy. 

Go considers Davao Mayor Sarah Duterte as her role model.  She dreamed as a kid of becoming a beauty queen and at the age of 10, she experienced her first pageant in a small town in Sultan Kudarat, finishing third among three contestants. She was invited to represent the country in the Mrs. Asia Pacific after being spotted at a Christmas party of the National Association of Independent Travel Agency (NAITAS) when she won as Star of the Night.
