The holding of the 2018 Mr. Universe Tourism, a presentation by Kasama
Inc., the organizer of the international pageant now on its second edition, is
in full swing with the appointment of Ms. Peaches M. Oblena-Nasser as the
Chairwoman for the 2018 edition and Mr. India Universe-Tourism 2017 Landjeet
Karam as Mr. Tourism-Universe 2018 Ambassador.
Ms. Oblena-Nasser, a businesswoman/philantrophist and currently the
president of Legacy Group of Companies and Inner Wheel Club Phillippines
International, was appointed by Kasama, Inc. president Gerald Ortiz. "Ms.
Oblena-Nasser has been helping us during the inaugural Mr. Universe-Tourism
last year and I’m happy that now she will be taking a huge role to ensure success
of the this year's pageant, " Ortiz said.
"I am humbled to accept the role as Chairwoman for this year's
edition. I will be working with all the members of the national organizing
committee to make the Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 a success", said Ms.
Oblena-Nasser.
Karam, one of 22 candidates last year and represented Manipur, India,
will be helping Ms. Oblena-Nasser in the promotion of the pageant as well as
oversee the preparation for this year. “I am so thankful to my parents and my family
who have encouraged me to do my best in the pageant life despite of
my busy college life as a medicine student in India.
Confirmed delegates include Thailand’s
Dome Nitat Na Wayo, who will aim to make it back to back after Richard Ricardo
Carter, the reigning Mr. Universe Tourism winner from Thailand. Others are Indonesia’s Bratta Kartasasmit,
Sri Lanka’s Akila and Cameroon’s Kitinga Goumbolo Dapsia Gédéon. The
Philippines will be represented by Ion Perez, a 26-year-old, print ad model
from Capaz, Tarlac.
Mr. Universe Tourism 2018 is scheduled on May 22-30, 2018 with the
Finals Night on May 29 at Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City. Delegates from all over the world will visit
Tourist destinations including Tagaytay City, Nasugbo and Pampanga. Mr.
Universe Tourism 2017 Richard Ricardo Carter will be arriving a week
