Miss Philippines wins fourth Miss Tourism International crown in Malaysia

 
The Philippines’ Jannie Loudette Alipo-on bested more than 40 candidates from around the world and won  the  Miss Tourism International 2017 crown at the glittering coronation finals held at the Grand Ballroom of Sunway Resort & Spa in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia on Wednesday night.

Alipo-on’s court of honor included Miss Poland Maja Sieron (Miss Tourism Metropolitan 2017); Miss Indonesia Lois Tangel (Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan 2017); Miss Brazil Julia Horta (Dream Girl of the Year 2017); Miss Australia Diana Hills (Miss Tourism Global 2017); and Miss Thailand Panghom Kamolrut Tanon (Miss South East Asia Tourism Ambassadress 2017).
 
Alipo-on, a 25-year-old, Tourism Management graduate of De la Salle College of St. Benilde, and hails from Navotas City, became the 4th Mutya ng Pilipinas queen to win the Miss Tourism International title following the back-to-back wins of Angeli Dione Gomez in 2013 and Rizzini Alexis Gomez in 2012 and Maria Esperanza Manzano in 2000. She was crowned by Ariel Pearse of New Zealand, last year’s winner.  The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate also bagged the Miss Gintell Wellness special award.

Named in the Top 10 were the delegates from Kenya, Malaysia,, USA, Dominican Republic and the Czech Republic. Other special awardees were Miss KL Sogo – India, Miss Secret Charm – Thailand, Miss Sogo Trendsetter – South Korea, Miss Whoosh Glamorous – Netherlands and Langkawi Ambassador – Brazil.

Alipo-on’s win is the fourth international title for the country in 2017 following Mary Eve Adeline Escoto at the Miss Asia Global 2017 held in Kerala, India on Nov. 22; Winwyn Marquez's  in Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 held in Sta.
