Twenty eight dashing men from the four
corners of the world were presented to the media to start official competition
of the Man of the World 2017 pageant held at the Icon Hotel in Edsa-North
Avenue on Thursday afternoon. Coming
from different backgrounds and profession, the candidates have travelled far
and wide to vie at becoming the first ever Man of the World titleholder.
Early favorites emerged from the
good-looking batch of contestants which include Egypt’s Mostafa Galal Mohammed
Elezali, Japan’s Tatsuya Furuyama, Colombia’s Christian Hernandez, Spain’s Marc
Torres, Palestine’s Abou Sahyoun Wassim, Australia’s James Carne, and hometown
bet Christopher Dulagan.
Dulagan, a 23-year-old, Police
Inspector presently working as a member of NAIA Aviation Security Group, was
brimming with confidence and expressed pride being the host country of the
newest international pageant for male. He is the third police officer to
compete in an international pageant after Mr. International Neil Perez and
Manhunt International semi-finalist Don Mcgyver Cochico. “I am pretty excited
for what is to come. I am happy that finally, I can help to show what the
Philippines can offer for my fellow-candidates. I assure them that they will
enjoy our well-known hospitality, the warm and friendly people and, of course,
the beautiful tourist spots in the country,” the Cordillera native said.
“This is my first time in the
Philippines and I am really happy to be here. The people are truly friendly and
I look forward to the coming days during the whole competition,” enthused Japanese
Furuyama. “I am glad to be back. The first time I was here was in another
competition, it was an amazing experience meeting people,” Colombian Hernandez
said.
Carlo Morris Galang, president of
Prime Events Productions Philippines, producer of the Man of the World pageant,
said that the pageant aims to showcase the country by incorporating various
elements of the country in all the pageant’s events and activities, from the
stage design to the locations of the wonderful beaches, to show how warmly the
country is embracing the foreign candidates as well as promote the pageant’s
advocacy. Man of the World is looking for the best man to act as ambassador of
the advocacy to spread educational awareness by forging partnerships with
different schools and promoting tourism.
The candidates will visit several
destinations in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental from July 21 to 24 for the
pre-pageant activities such as the National Costume and Swimwear competition.
They will participate in grand parade in Tanjay City, Education Forum at St.
Paul College Dumagete, Governor’s Ball and Mayor’s Night, Dolphin-watching and
Apo Island adventure. They will be back
in Manila on July 25 for the Charity Auction, July 26 for the Preliminary
Competition at the House Manila, Remington Hotel, Resorts world Manila and
finally on July 28 for the Man of the World finals to be held at One Esplanade.The

Merdoukh Fahd, Cape Verde’s Daniel jose Da Luz Da Graca, China’s Junjie huang,
England’s Habib Mohamed Ali, Esonia’s Kaido Matson, Gibraltar’s Felix Bothen,
Guam’s Jake Edward Limtiaco, Indonesia’s ifnu Viqri Al Karani, Korea’s Jung Goo
Young, Malta’s Iven Mercieca, Moldova’s Victor Suiu, Myanmar’s Aung Ko Ko,
Nepal’s Shree Ram Chand, Puerto Rico’s Enrique Antonio Perez, Singapore’s
Ikhwan Risydah Nasuha Bin Sap’ee, spain’s Marc Tarres, Sri Lanka’s Damith
Chandima Bandara Wijayatunga, Syria’s Abdullah Srayddin, Thailand’s Mooltribut
