Filipino fans have more reasons to stay at home on a lazy Sunday afternoon to be able to follow their favorite WWE Superstars on SmackDown such as AJ Styles, The New Day, Randy Orton, Charlotte Flair, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens and Naomi on a one-hour edition of SmackDown to be aired by TV5 every Sunday at 3 PM. Beginning on April 30, 2017.

A new partnership between WWE and TV5 to broadcast WWE’s exciting flagship program SmackDown in the Philippines over Channel TV5 was recently forged. WWE SmackDown will also be simulcast online at www.tv5.com.ph and www.Sports.tv5.com.ph.

TV 5 Sports enjoys world-class coverage, programming, and delivery under TV5’s watch. At the same time, the network champions a decidedly different brand of entertainment that is influenced by and relevant to the current social milieu.

Pro wrestling action series featuring the superstars of World Wrestling Entertainment made its debut on UPN in 1999 and immediately became one of the network's most popular programs. WWE programming reaches more than 650 million homes worldwide in 20 languages.

New TV5 President and CEO Chot Reyes said during the launching of SmackDown on TV 5 that they are honored and excited to be the platform that delivers the WWE to the free tv audience. “In the industry of sports entertainment, WWE is second to none. It’s a proven, successful, model organization and an esteemed, iconic brand,” Reyes enthused.

“We are happy that TV5 shares our vision and desire for engaging and entertaining fans in the Philippines. The new partnership to televise SmackDown showcases the continuing global growth of WWE while creating a destination for WWE fans in the Philippines to enjoy our unique blend of action-packed, family fun entertainment,” Chris Marsh, WWE Asia Pacific General Manager, said to the local media.
