Shamcey Supsup-Lee leads opening of Smilee Apparel Centre in Binondo

Smilee, the shirt that sets the standard, is now ready to be part of every Filipinos’ daily life.  Shamcey Supsup-Lee, 2011 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up and now national director of Miss Universe Philippines Organization, jointly with businessman-husband, Lloyd, led the opening of Smilee Apparel Centre right at the heart of Binondo Chinatown on Saturday.  The ultimate shopping experience, Smilee Apparel finally opened its doors to Filipino-shirts lovers with the brand made of highest standard and quality.

“We’re excited to launch Smilee Apparel, a one stop shop where people can come to buy their shirts for personal use, company uniform, all available in different styles, sizes and colors.  It was our goal and dream ever since to have our own brand.  The family business has been here for more than 40 years, manufacturing fabrics, but we never had our own branch.  With Smilee Apparel, we can showcase the quality of our fabrics,” said Shamcey, who shunned questions related to the Miss Universe Philippines pageant for the meantime. She however, hinted at the kind of aspirants they expected to join the pageant.

Paul Lee, CEO /president of Shirtasia Apparel, Inc. and father in-law of Shamcey, said that every Smilee shirt goes under careful processes done by dedicated, passionate and skilled Filipinos. “Without compromising the high quality of the shirt, it’s very affordable. Truly a shirt made by the Filipino for the Filipinos, and in the future, for the world,” Lee proudly said.

Smilee Apparel Centre is near of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Church. The shop inside an old Binondo building was retrofitted and all the aesthetics designed by Lloyd.  Smilee shirts are also available on-line via Facebook, Google and Instagram. It comes in various collection from Basicwear, Classicwear, Sportswear, Premiumwear, Econowear and Limited Edition. (Report by Eton Concepcion / Photos by Edmund Chua)
