Who
will take the crown at the exciting grand coronation night of Mr. and Ms.
Philippine Youth 2020? With the pre-pageant judging completed to choose the Top
10 finalists, including the “Model Discovery of the Year” and “Personality
Award” winners, one top contender is fifteen-year-old, animal rights advocate
Marielle Lim.
“I
would like to promote the welfare of animals because they are vulnerable and
they do not have a voice,” Lim said before a panel of the screening committee
when asked about her advocacy. “I believe that we need someone who will speak
for the animals and I want to be that voice,” added the youngest candidate of
Mr. and Ms. Philippine Youth 2020. Such words of compassion and grace are
a rarity for today’s young beauty aspirants.
A
Grade 10 student at the International Learning Academy in Cainta, Rizal, Lim
strives for balance in her studies and other extra-curricular activities with
her busy schedule. She also models for Star Entertainment Production & Talent
Management founded by Rose Jorta. In addition to her training and work in
modeling and photoshoot, the youngster is a member of the school’s volleyball
and swimming team. She does ice skating and loves to play different instruments
like the guitar, ukulele, and kalimba.
Despite
these, Lim has not neglected her studies and maintained to be in the school’s
honor roll. She always has time for family and relatives and of course, her dog
Buddy. But most of all, Lim is a God-fearing person, grateful for everything
that she considered a gift from God. Watch the grand coronation of Mr. and Ms.
Philippine Youth 2020 at the Tanghalang PasigueƱo this Sunday, January 12. (Report by Eton Concepcion)
