Catriona Gray leads ‘Give-Back’ charity event at Novotel Manila

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, in cooperation with Frontrow Cares, Miss Universe Philippines and LiveSmart organizations, graced a ‘Give-back’ charity event at Novotel Manila, Araneta Center on Thursday afternoon. Frontrow Cares, headed by Sam Verzosa, CEO and RS Francisco, president, handed over a one-million-peso donation to Love Yourself, represented by Danvic Rosadiño, Program Manager, and Young Focus, represented by Ann Van Wijgerden, Managing Director and Founder. Miss Universe Philippines and LiveSmart also handed a $15,000 donation to Hope for Change.

Love Yourself is the leading non-government organization on HIV awareness and testing in the country, while Gray’s favorite charity, Young Focus, based in Balut, Tondo, Manila, runs a day care center for malnourished for 0-2 year olds and preschool for children aged 3–5 to have access to early education and care. The Hope for Change Foundation is a non-profit humanitarian organization works to raise awareness and support for child sponsorship programs in the Philippines.

“Giving is a matter of heart. I have been working with charity organizations even before Miss Universe, and I would not be the same person if I had not been working with them. You could be the most successful person, but if you’re not giving back, there is something unfulfilled. That’s why what I’m trying to inspire people is to learn now to give back,” Gray said at the conference.

“I’m so thankful to be working with brand families who embody my ambition of giving back and serving our communities. I want to thank Frontrow Cares, Livesmart, Miss Universe Philippines for their amazing work and for helping me in recognizing and giving back to Young Focus, Love Yourself and Hope For Change organizations,” added Gray.

Gray continues to be an inspiration to all as she stepped up efforts to fulfill her passion about making a difference in other people’s lives, especially, the welfare of poor children in Tondo, the focus of the advocacy she campaigned in her journey in Miss Universe 2018, and in helping eradicate the HIV/AIDS problem, as well.
