Thailand’s
hottest girl next door, Chontida ‘Amie’ Chatsirichai, was named Jewel of the
World 2019 at the finals held Tuesday night at GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium,
Diliman, Quezon City and was crowned by Neena Macaire Bezuidenhout of South
Africa, the first ever Jewel of the World winner.
The
Philippines’ Maria Divine Angela Veranga, a 26-year-old, Tourism
Management student, was first runner up, while China’s Huli Xie, who bagged the
Miss Photogenic award, placed 2nd runner up. Miss Ecuador Susy Sacoto and Miss
South Africa Kyla Maloney were 3rd and 4th runners up, respectively.
Chatsirichai
is a 28-year-old, model who won the FHM Girls Next Door title in 2012 and Miss
Grand Satun in 2017. Miss Japan Wakaba
Suda won Miss Friendship, Miss USA Marshalla Peral Kahleck was Miss Talent and
Miss Myanmar Nang Cherry won Best in National Costume.
The
second edition of Jewel of the World is a presentation of JOP, which aims to
promote education of Philippine culture and the arts, jointly with Jewel of the
