Over forty gorgeous hunks from all
corners of the world will converge in Manila beginning February 14 to kick off
the 13th edition of Mister International pageant, a presentation of Prime Event
Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS) in partnership with Mister
International Organization.
“PEPPS Foundation is very proud to
bring back the Mister International pageant in the country. The LIVE broadcast
of the competition draws millions of viewers worldwide and we are happy to
showcase the best that the Philippines can offer during the two-week pageant,” PEPPS
president Carlo Morris Galang said.
Mark Kevin Baloaloa, a 26-year-old, print
ad and runway model and native of Catanauan, Quezon, is the country’s bet and
will try to duplicate the feat of PO2 Mariano Flormata, Jr. (better known as
Neil Perez) who won Mister International 2014. Alexander Aquino’s win as Grasim
Mr. International 2001 in India was a different pageant.
“I am very excited as host to welcome
them and show the beauty of our country, our famous hospitality and
culture. I’m proud to carry the
Philippine flag, and with God’s blessings and the support of the best fans in
the world, I could not ask for more,” Baloaloa said.
Baloaloa will have an all Filipino
made wardrobe with cultural significance, including a national costume inspired
by the Philippine legend of Bakunawa, a moon-eating dragon, designed by Michael
Barassi, with Olan Roque and Bea Bianca providing for his formal wear. The Lynn
Bentsen Academy has given support thru intensive runway and communication
skills training.
The top attractions of Ilocos Norte
have been chosen as locations for this year’s pre-pageant activities which will
be graced by the reigning Mister International Seung Hwan Lee of South Korea. The
grand finals of the 2018 Mister International pageant will be held at One
Esplanade Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City on February 24, 2019. (Report by Eton Concepcion / Photos by Joy
