The official candidates of Misters of
Filipinas 2018 were formally presented to the press on Monday afternoon held at
the Plaza of Resorts World Manila, Pasay City. The 23 aspirants coming from
different backgrounds will compete for the titles at stake including Mister
International and Man of the Year Philippines.
Misters of Filipinas, now on its sixty
year, is being presented by Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation,
Inc. (PEPPS) headed by its president Carlo Morris Galang. Misters of Filipinas
pageant, which aims to uplift the image and system of male pageants in the
country, has produced international winners in Mister International 2014 Neil
Perez and Man of the Year 2016 Karan Singhdole.
“I’m proud to say we have a good batch
this year, just to prove that the pageant is going stronger despite the
conflicts and challenges,” Galang said.
Arnel Colis, a model and graduate of
Bachelor of Secondary Education from Mexico, Pampanga, was named Darling of the
Press. San Beda University student Daniel Jego Nacnac of Laoag City; restaurant
manager Federico Palejon of Florence, Italy; seaman Jake Camarines of Calbayog,
Samar; and Senior High School student Ruben Anthony Timbol of Tarlac were named
runners up.
Among the early favorites are Police
Officer Willy Quinto, popularly known as the “Dancing Police of Valenzuela who
won as grand winner of ABS-CBN’s Gwapulis 2016 search; Casius Charles Panopio,
a model and Business Administration graduate of Batangas; International Studies
graduate and model John Paul Ocat of Talisay, Cebu; actor’singer/dancer/model
and fitness enthusiast Elcid Magne Camacho; Tourism graduate from Philippine
Women’s University Arnel Acorda, Jr. of Tarlac City and Communication student
Judah Nathaniel Tioseco of Capas, Tarlac.
The rest of the candidates are John
Chris Gamez of Rome, Italy, Davidrei Manimtim – Manila, Aldrin Bryan Palma –
Imus, Cavite, Nick Aldwin Bundang – Castillejos, Zambales, John Allen Villejo –
Surigao Del Norte, Jerry Robert Treyes – San Narciso, Zambales, Mark Kevin
Baloaloa – Catanauan, Quezon, Errol Morgan of Australia, Jorge Domen, Jr. of
Dubai, Erik Dela Sena – Iligan City, Jasper Neil Ong of Filipino Chinese
Community and Jose Perfecto Rosete – Quezon City.
The candidates will visit Davao for
the preliminary competitions. The Finals of Misters of Filipinas 2018 will have
be held at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City on October 3, 2018. Report
