Gumera wins Darling of the Press at the grand launch of the inaugural Ginoong
Calabarzon 2018 presented to the press along with 21 other official candidates
held recently at West Avenue Suites–Penthouse in Quezon City.

The grand launch of the inaugural Ginoong
Calabarzon 2018 presented to the press its 22 official candidates held recently
at West Avenue Suites–Penthouse in Quezon City. Young and talented, composed mostly
of students, the aspirants who hail from the provinces of Cavite, Laguna,
Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, faced the members of the media in a Q&A,
personality and intelligence introduction.
Ricky Gumera, a graduate of Marine
Transportation at the Philippine Merchant Marine School (PMMS) in Las Piñas and
currently works as Marketing Assistant at PMMS, was voted Darling of the Press.
Gumera is a member of the PMMS Mariners Men’s Volleyball Champion Team in 2017
National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU).
To act as ambassadors of goodwill for
Region 4A, three lucky winners will be named as Ginoong Calabarzon 2018,
Ginoong Calabarzon Turismo 2018 and Ginoong Calabarzon Kabataan 2018 to wear their respective crowns exclusively
designed by Manny Halasan. Adam Balasa of Batangas will provide the
wardrobe while Sonny Boy Mindo and Louis Pangilinan will provide the swimwear
and casual wear for the 22 contestants.
A line-up of exciting and challenging
pre-pageant activities, including an Advocacy Competition, are in store for the
candidates in the coming days. A fast-track on-line voting winner, thru voting
line hosted by pageantvote.ph, will give the candidate an automatic slot in the
Top 12 at the Finals Night to be held at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran –
Calamba Gymnasium on May 26, 2018. Words
