Miss Global Philippines 2017 Mary Ann Mungcal is
now in Cambodia to represent the country at the Miss Global 2017 pageant. Mungcal, a model from Arayat, Pampanga, will
compete against almost 50 candidates from all over the world during the 5th
edition of Miss Global pageant to be held at the Koh Pich Performance Art
Theater, Cambodia, on November 18.
Mungcal, a
graduate of Business Administration, Major in Marketing Management at the
University of Assumption, is a strong contender for the international title
which has not been won by a Filipina or candidate from Asia. “I will do my best
to win and bring honor to the country,” said the 21-year-old, stunner during
the sendoff party hosted for her recently at Hops and Brews of the posh I’m
Hotel in Makati Avenue.
Pauline Sofia
Laping, president of Miss Global Philippines, said that Mungcal has undergone
rigid training for the competition under the top guidance of the Kagandahang
Flores beauty camp. “I expect her to be a top contender for the crown after our
consecutive runner up finishes,” Pauline said. The Philippines’ Camille Hirro
finished as 1st runner-up in last year’s Miss Global pageant won by Angela
Bonilla of Ecuador.
Miss Global
Philippines 2nd Runner Up Jacqueline Mayoralgo joined Mungcal at the sendoff
supported by Avalon, Ibarra watches, Meihao Corporation, Food Caravan, Jenus
Web Solutions, Inc., iFranchise Business Services Corp., Nazareth Hospital and
Bioluce. The Miss Global winner will have the chance to travel the world as an
ambassador of beauty and culture and to attend to charitable fundraising
events. Words and Photos by ETON CONCEPCION
