Ex-US Army officer and Davao lass favorites in Mr. and Miss Chinatown 2017 pageant

Voted Darling of the Press, Joy Wu of Davao City and Jacob Muñez, an ex-US Army soldier during the press presentation held on August 8, 2017 at Solaire Resorts and Casino in Parañaque City.

The search for Mr. and Miss Chinatown 2017, the country’s most prestigious Fil-Chinese Beauty Pageant, kicked off with the media presentation of its thirty official candidates coming from the different regions of the country held recently at the Eclipse Bar of Solaire Hotel and Casino in Pasay City.

Mr. and Miss Chinatown 2017, with the theme New Dynasty, seeks to create a re-defined image of the Chinoy characterized by the graceful combination of traditional values and a contemporary progressive stance, and anchored on the modern Chinoys as open minded and ready to brave change and scale new heights.

More than finding ambassadors who possesses the Chinoy brand of beauty and excellence, Mr. and Miss Chinatown puts in the limelight the Chinoy culture and promotes strengthening of Filipino and Chinese relations and advocates the pride in the Chinoy heritage.

The media presentation kick-off event voted Joy Wu of Davao City and Jacob Muñez, an ex-US Army soldier, as the Press Choice winners.  Watch out for this year’s gorgeous Chinoys candidates in the coming pre-pageant events, namely, Cultural Costume Presentation at the Eastwood Mall Atrium on August 13, Chinatown Ball at Solaire Ballroom on August 16, and Talent Competition at the Lucky Chinatown Mall Atrium on August 20.

The winner of Miss Chinatown 2017 will compete in the Miss Chinese International 2017 to be held in Malaysia Winners and runners-up will receive P200,000, P100,000 and P50,000 worth of cash and prizes, respectively. The Mr. and Miss Chinatown 2017 pageant will have its grand coronation night at The Theater at Solaire on September 1 to be shown on ABS-CBN Sunday’s Best on September 10.

Mr. & Miss Chinatown 2017 is a presentation of the Miss Chinatown Foundation and Oriental Group and co-presented Solaire Resort & Casino and the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.
