Miss Earth Philippines 2017’s Finals set on July 15 at MOA Arena; Darlings of the Press selected


The forty “Earth Warrior” beauties vying for the title of Miss Philippines Earth 2017 showed their fighting forms wearing 2-piece green swimwear during press presentation held at the poolside of Manila Diamond Hotel on Wednesday afternoon.

The press presentation was a pre-pageant show separate from the three prejudging competitions, namely, figure & form, beauty of face & poise, and intelligence category which was introduced by Carousel Productions, Inc., organizer of the Miss Philippines Earth pageant, from which the Top 12 semi-finalists will be selected to be revealed during the coronation night.

The Press Presentation ended with the announcement of the winners of the Darling of the Press. Pulilan, Bulacan’s Samantha Viktoria Acosta, a 19-year-old, 5-foot-7, Entrepreneural Management student of the University of Asia and the Pacific, and Reyna ng Bulacan-Earth 2016, won the Gold Medal.

The Silver Medal went to Olongapo City’s Kim de Guzman, a 25-year-old, aspiring actress and former Pinoy Big Brother Housemate (2012), while the Bronze Medal was shared by Porac, Pampanga’s Anne Krishia Antonio and Panglao, Bohol’s Catherine Tabaniag.

Antonio is a 22-year-old, Cum Laude graduate in Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of the Philippines, and a former Miss Global Philippines 2016 candidate. Tabaniag is an 18-year-old, BS Education major in Social Studies at the Holy Name University in Bohol and the newly crowned Miss Philippines Earth Bohol 2017.

In the Long Gown competition was held at the Puerto Princesa City Coliseum in Palawan on July 1, medal winners were Puerto Princesa City’s Sadrine Stoelzaed (Gold), Panglao’s Tabaniag (Silver) and New Zealand’s Jessica Rose Mc Ewen (Bronze).

In the Talent Competition (Dance Category), winners were New Zealand’s McEwen (Gold), Paranaque’s Sofia Jane Panapanaan (Silver) and Pulilan, Bulacan’s Acosta and Lucena City’s Shaina Louise Kim (tied for Bronze). For the Singing Category, winners were El Salvador City’s Elizabeth Amahan (Gold), Makati City’s Rheena Rae Ferrer  (Silver) and Olongapo City’s Kim de Guzman and Mandaluyong City’s Marie Sherry Ann Tormes (tied for Bronze).

The Miss Photogenic winner of Miss Philippines Earth 2017 can be voted through www.facebook.com/MissPhilEarth.
