Cebuana model named Darling of the Press of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017


Top 3 Darling of the Press: Ilene de Vera, of Cebu was voted Darling of the Press during the press presentation of the 30 candidates for the 49th Mutya ng Pilipinas search held recently at Hotel 101 Pasay City. Jannie Loudette Alipo-on of Navotas City and Colleen Chan of Iloilo were 2nd and 3rd, respectively. With the new president of Mutya ng Pilipinas, Ms. Hemilyn Escudero-Tamayo.



Statuesque Ilene de Vera, a 5-foot-9, part-time model in Cebu and a student of BA Mass Communication at University of the Philippines-Cebu, was voted Darling of the Press during the press presentation of the 30 candidates for the 49th Mutya ng Pilipinas search held recently at Hotel 101 Pasay City.  Jannie Loudette Alipo-on of Navotas City and Colleen Chan of Iloilo were named 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up, respectively.

At stake are the titles of Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International 2017, Mutya ng Pilipinas –Tourism International 2017 and Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities 2017 who will compete in Miss Asia Pacific International, Miss Tourism International and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International.

Other candidates stood out during the press junket including Cristelle Ann Tolentino of Manila, Jesas Wada of Overseas Community of Japan, Abegail Jane Grigsby of Melbourne, Louise Lian Enumerable of Negros Island, Sofia Marie Sibug of Albay, Hannah Khayle Iglesia of Isabela, Jaila Eunice Ragindin of Bataan and Chella Grace Falconer of Northern Mindanao.

The 30 candidates will have a hectic schedule of preliminary activities from July 21 to 29 leading to the Grand Coronation Night on August 4, 2017 to be held at Newport Performing Arts Theater to be telecast on ABS CBN on August 6, 2017 10AM to 12NN. The preliminary activities include the Swimsuit competition, at Hannah’s Beach Resort in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte; Designers’ competition-Regional Costume at The Plaza, Resorts World Manila; and Long Gown competition at Alta D’Tagaytay in Tagaytay City.

Founded in 1968, the Mutya ng Pilipinas quest, under its new president, Hemilyn Escudero, promotes “Beauty Tourism” within the greater Asia Pacific with the direct participation of several overseas Filipino communities, and is inspired by its guiding thrust to assist in promoting Tourism, Social Responsibility, Fashion and Beauty pageantry.
