Bicolana named 49th Mutya ng Pilipinas - Best in Regional Costume


The 2017 Mutya ng Pilipinas has once again showcased the Filipino designers’ ingenuity and creative talents during the Regional Costume-Designer’s Competition held recently at The Plaza Resorts World Manila with the 30 lovely candidates wearing original creations.

Crystal Rosehelly Alday, representing Camarines Sur, won Best in Regional costume with her elegant, pastel green, cross-decorated Filipiniana created by designer Tito Louis Pangilinan. The 23-year-old, 5-foot-6, native of Naga City, who was named 3rd runner-up in the Ms. Photogenic competition, won as Ms. Kaogma Tourism in 2015 and was a candidate in Miss Global Philippines 2014.

Alyssa Joreen Reyes of Lemery, Batangas and Nicole Kristel Losloso were named first and second runners up, respectively. Reyes was 2017 NAITAS Face of Tourism 1st Runner-up while Losloso was 3rd runner up in Mr. and Ms. Quezon 2016 and is the reigning Mutya ng Southern Luzon.

Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017, now on its 49th year, will hold next the Swimsuit Competition at Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center, in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte while the Long Gown Competition will be held at Alta D’Tagaytay in Tagaytay City as part of the preliminary competitions

The Grand Coronation Night will be held at Newport Performing Arts Theater on August 4, 2017 to be telecast on ABS CBN on August 6, 2017 10AM to 12NN. Four major titles at stake are – Mutya ng Pilipinas – Asia Pacific International 2017, Mutya ng Pilipinas – Tourism International 2017, Mutya ng Pilipinas – Overseas Communities 2017 and Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2017.
