Twenty two beauties
from the different provinces were selected as official candidates of the Miss
Global Philippines 2017 search. Miss Global Philippines, now on its 3rd year,
is unique in that it gathers single women and single mothers to compete at the
same pageant and one title.
Reigning Miss
Global Philippines Camille Hirro, who finished as 1st runner up in Miss Global
2016, will relinquish her crown to her successor. Vying for the title to be
known during the grand coronation night on July 9 at Resorts World Manila are Sharmaine
Rose Magdasoc (Pasig), Aisha Sahid (Batangas), Rowena Sasuluya (Bulacan), Dheza
Rose Asis (Isabela), Sheena Mae Adricula (Antique), Joana Marie Verdeflor
(Iriga), Maria Frencheska Nueva (Pasay) Fina Jallene Gulapa (Sto. Tomas,
Pampanga), Andrea Delgado (Naga), Crisha Buen (Cainta, Rizal), Sharmaine Aller
(Quezon City), Nestly Resplandor (Valenzuela City), Chantal Roi Serafica
(Caloocan City), Marie Donnabelle Gaoat (Ilocos Sur), Mary Ann Mungcal (Arayat,
Pampanga), Thessa Marie Saavedra (Camiling, Tarlac), Janine Ortiz (Pili, Cam.
Sur), Jacqueline Mayoralgo (Makati City), Diane Abigail Santiago (Valenzuela
City), Christine Balaguer (Aklan), Maria Josephine Araullo (Navotas) and Mhaelen
Mae Patano (Cabanatuan City).
“This year we
have gathered another batch of beauties who will surely give a tough but
entertaining competition as they begin their journey for the coveted title,”
said Pauline Sofia Laping, Miss Global Philippines CEO and national pageant
director. “We are very glad that the relatively new beauty pageant is steadily
finding its hold in the pageant arena. As we prepare to crown the next Miss
Global Philiipines winner, we give our grandest salute to the new batch of
candidates and bid them the best of luck for showing the country and the world
the true heart and soul of a global Filipina,” Laping added.
The Miss
Global Philippines pageant has made a tremendous impact with the community by
actively partnering with different local charity institutions (feeding program,
medical missions, etc.) and environmental projects with the DENR. Miss Global
Philippines will serve as a tourism ambassador to promote the Philippine
heritage and its world-class destinations here and abroad. She will represent
the country in the 2017 Miss Global pageant which aims to provide a powerful
platform to unify women from all parts of the globe by allowing a more diverse
selection of qualified women who can be a true global icon to females from all
