Thirteen
candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2017 search competed at the highly
anticipated talent competition, held at the Ali Mall activity area on Saturday
afternoon hosted by former Bb. Pilipinas-International Patricia Fernandez.
Watched by a
big and appreciative mall crowd, at least four stood out among the rest of the
candidates. They were Arianne Calingo performing Ballet en pointe “The Dying
Swan”, Marielle De Leon opera rendering of Celine Dion’s “My Heart will Go On”,
Joselle Mariano singing Les Miserables’ I Dreamt a Dream’ and Camille Manalo
showcasing her SEA Games 2011 gold-winning performance in Taekwondo.
The rest of
the girls also delighted the crowd with Kristel Guelos’ magic tricks, Gillian
Colcol and Maria Benjieleen Nama’s dancing talent, Ara Salientes’
tribute-to-mother declamation, Jessica Ramirez and Beatrice Valente’s speed
painting, Elizabeth Clenci and Clarice Marion Villareal’s guitar playing, and
Dane Marasigan singing a Celine Dion hit, Thoreen Halvorsen’s cover of Katty
Perry’s “Roar” and Joselle Mariano performing Les Miserables’ “I Dreamed a
Dream.”
The Talent Show,
which was preceded by a JAG outfit fashion show, followed the Bb. Pilipinas
National Costume competition held a week earlier. Sitting us judges to select
the Best in Talent special award to be announced on grand coronation night
included Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) chairperson Stella Marquez
Araneta, Raymond Saldana, shoe designer Jojo Bragias and ABS-CBN bigwigs Chit
Guerrero and Chris Violago. Guest performer was The Voice Philippines 2013 contestant RJ dela Fuente who
serenaded the lovely candidates.

Pilipinas 2017 Talent Show will be followed by the much-awaited traditional
Parade of Beauties which will be held around the Araneta Center in Cubao on
April 22. The Miss Photogenic special award will be decided via fan vote thru
