It’s
Christmas time, the loveliest, merriest and most wonderful time of the year. On
it’s 35th year, Araneta Center, the premier commercial district in Quezon City,
welcomes the start of the Yuletide season with the traditional lighting of its
100-foot giant Christmas Tree just beside the SmartAraneta Coliseum at Gateway
Food Mart in Cubao.

Charities, Inc. Chairwoman,Madam Stella Marquez de Araneta led the lighting
ceremony Friday night with guest comedian/actor and “Showtime” host Vice Ganda
with the reigning BinibiningPilipinas queens, Maria Mika Maxine Medina, the country’s
bet at Miss Universe in Manila in January 2017,BinibiningPilipinas
Intercontinental Jennifer Hammond, BinibiningPilipinas Globe Nichole Marie
Manalo, Bb. Pilipinas first and second runners up Angelica Alita and
JezhraHuelar.
Making the lighting ceremony more
meaningful is the presence of street children from the He Cares Mission who
were treated to a dinner and given their Christmas gifts. The Four Wheel Drive
band performed before the colourful grand fireworks display.
The Voice winner Jason Dy and Daryl
Ong thrilled the crowd that gathered at the event along with ASAP birit queen
JonalynViray and sexy dancer housemate Dawn Chang. OtherKapamilya stars who
performed were Alex Gonzaga, Inigo Pascual, LoisaAndalio along with Goin’
Bulilit’s Marco Masa, Izzy Canillo, MutyaOrquia, NhickzyCalma, Maris Racal and
XyrielManabat and Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7 VivoreeEsclito and Marco
Gallo.
This holidays, Araneta Center will
give away a brand new Isuzu mu-X to the lucky shopper, and 10 other winners of
an overnight stay at Novotel Manila. The Feel the Ride Christmas promo will
also run until January 15, 2017. Aranetashoppers will be eligible to join for a
single-receipt purchase worth P1,000. The Araneta Center’s 60 Gifts for 60 Days
promo is now on-going via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram everyday up to
December 23.
